VILLAS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO RACKETEERING CHARGE, FOLLOWING APRIL KAUFFMAN INVESTIGATION


MAYS LANDING-A Villas man has pleaded guilty to a racketeering charge, following a multi-jurisdictional investigation, multiple arrests and indictments in connection to the murder of April Kauffman, as well as, conspiracy and racketeering, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Joseph Mulholland, 52, pleaded guilty to second degree Racketeering on Thursday morning before Presiding Judge Bernard DeLury.

As a condition of the guilty plea, Mulholland could serve a maximum of 10 years in a New Jersey state prison.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seth Levy represents the state.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Sgt. James Scoppa Jr. and FBI Special Agent Daniel A. Garrabrant are the lead investigators on the case.

The investigation and arrests were the result of a joint operation between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, the FBI, Linwood, Egg Harbor Township, Somers Point and Lower Township police departments and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
