VETERANS DAY: ACPO DET. SGT. GAZZARA SERVES AS A 23-YEAR MILITARY VETERAN


MAYS LANDING- On Veteran’s Day ACPO is sharing the story of military veteran and ACPO Det. Sgt. David Gazzara who also serves in the United States Air Force and has also served in the United States Army.

“I serve in the military for a multitude of reasons. There are far too many reasons to list but keeping my family, fellow service members, and country safe by applying my expertise as a seasoned bomb technician is one of the many ways I accomplish my goal of faithful military service,” Det. Sgt. Gazzara said.

Det. Sgt. Gazzara has served in the military for about 23 years so far.  Nine years of his military service were active duty in the US Army and that includes his time working for the United Nations as a UNSCOM Chemical Weapons Inspector in Iraq. Sgt. Gazzara said the rest of his military career is being served in the USAF where he currently holds the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt/E-9).

Det. Sgt. Gazzara has also completed deployments to the following locations: twice in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq and 3 other various deployment locations.

“We are truly thankful for the service of Det. Sgt. Dave Gazzara.  His service is remarkable, for he has been deployed overseas on seven occasions to assignments such as Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Iraq.  Such deployments can take a toll on a person’s family and co-workers, but we are all proud of Sgt. Gazzara for his service and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to him for all he does for our country,” said Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.
