STATEMENT FROM ATLANTIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR DAMON G. TYNER ON FATAL SHOOTING OF PLEASANTVILLE MAN

“The decedent in last night’s homicide was a suspect in the shooting that occurred on the night of June 27, 2019 in Atlantic City, where two bystanders received non-life threatening wounds. Also, he had been previously wounded by gunfire. The stark reality is that in most of our recent homicide cases, local law enforcement is finding itself in a race against retribution by the streets,” said Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.

Following a 911 call just after 11 p.m., on Sunday, June 30, 2019, Atlantic City Police responded to the 300 block of N. Pennsylvania Avenue for a report of a shooting. Jordan Reaves, 21, was located and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division where he died from his injuries.

This incident is an ongoing investigation between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City Police Department.
