MAYS LANDING- An Atlantic County Grand Jury returned an indictment Tuesday against a New York man for the sexual assault of a housekeeper, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
The 6 Count indictment returned yesterday against Jamel Carlton, 32, of Saugerties, New York, is in connection to the violent sexual assault of a Bally’s Hotel and Casino housekeeper.
Carlton has been indicted for the following offenses:
1) First-Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault
2) Second-Degree Sexual Assault
3) Second-Degree Burglary
4) Third-Degree Aggravated Assault
5) Third-Degree Criminal Restraint
6) Fourth Degree Obstruction
Carlton was originally arrested in February and was detained pending trial on February 15, 2018. The case was investigated by the Atlantic City Police Department and Acting Chief Assistant Prosecutor Danielle S. Buckley represents the state.
