MAYS LANDING MAN CHARGED WITH NARCOTICS, WEAPONS, ROBBERY, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CHARGES


MAYS LANDING- A Mays Landing man has been charged with multiple narcotics charges, weapons, robbery and aggravated assault charges, following a multi-law enforcement agency investigation, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Kaiwan Lewis

On Friday August 3, 2018, members of the Hamilton Township Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office apprehended Kaiwan Lewis, 24, pursuant to an ongoing narcotics distribution investigation.

Lewis was charged with the following:

  • Second degree Distribution of Heroin
  • Third degree Possession of Heroin

On Wednesday August 8, 2018, Lewis was charged by the Pleasantville Police Department in connection to a home invasion that occurred on April 25, 2018 in the city of Pleasantville.

Lewis was charged with the following:

  • First degree Robbery
  • Second degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
  • Second degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose
  • Second degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
  • Fourth degree Aggravated Assault

Lewis is in custody at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. A detention hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018.

The arrest was the result of a collaborative effort between the ACPO Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Hamilton Township Police Department and the Pleasantville Police Department.
