MAYS LANDING – A 43 year-old Hammonton man has been indicted on narcotics charges after a long-term investigation recovered 1 kilogram of heroin and other narcotics when he was arrested on Saturday, March 9, 2019, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
Josue Bonilla of 22 West End Dr., Hammonton, is indicted for the following charges:
- 1st degree Possession and Distribution of heroin
- 1st degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Crystal Methamphetamine in excess of 5 Ounces
- 3rd degree Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine
- 2nd degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine in Excess of One Half Ounce
- 3rd degree Possession of Cocaine
In the summer of 2018, the ACPO Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, Hammonton Police Department, FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security initiated a cooperative investigation into Bonilla for the distribution of narcotics.
This investigation culminated with the arrest of Bonilla on Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Hammonton NJ. Subsequent search warrants associated with the investigation led to the recovery of additional narcotics 1 ½ pounds of methamphetamine, 7 ounces of cocaine and 1 kilogram of heroin.
Bonilla is lodged in the Essex County Jail. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Anne Crater represents the state in the matter.
