EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP MAN INDICTED IN FATAL SHOOTING OF ATLANTIC CITY MAN


MAYS LANDING – An Egg Harbor Township man has been indicted in the fatal February shooting of an Atlantic City man, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Troy Demby, 36, was indicted on May 10, 2018, with the following counts in the death of 30 year-old Raphael G. Terrigino:

  • First degree Murder
  • First degree Felony Murder
  • First degree Robbery
  • Second degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun
  • Second degree Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose
  • First degree Possession of a Handgun by a Defendant Previously Convicted of a NERA (No Early Release Act) Crime

Terrigino was found deceased on February 2, by Pleasantville Police responding to a 911 call at 7:45 a.m. Patrol arrived at 12 Stenton Avenue in Pleasantville and located Terrigino inside his vehicle, deceased. An autopsy determined cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

The same indictment also charges Demby with First degree Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, after investigators discovered and seized approximately 10 ounces of cocaine in a home where the defendant was located on February 7, 2018. Demby remains lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Egg Harbor Township Police, and the Pleasantville Police Department. Assistant Prosecutor Rick McKelvey represents the state.
