EGG HARBOR CITY MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE NARCOTICS OFFENSES AFTER EXECUTION OF SEARCH WARRANT

MAYS LANDING –An Egg Harbor City man has been arrested and charged with numerous narcotics offenses, following a Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit investigation that began in December 2021, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

On May 4, 2022, members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant upon a 2020 Acura TLX at 805 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ. Laquay Gibbs, 40, of Egg Harbor City was arrested during a pedestrian stop prior to the execution of the search warrant.

Members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit recovered the following items during the execution of the search warrant:

-A black bag containing approximately 16.8 grams of suspected heroin

-approx. 500 wax folds of suspected heroin

-several hundred empty white wax bags

-digital scale

-cut measuring straw with plastic spoon

-one-gallon Zip-Lock bag filled with tan rubber-bands

-4 suspected MDMA pills

-5 white pills stamped M/20 (suspected fentanyl pills, pressed to appear like Oxycodone 20mg).

 

Gibbs is charged with the following CDS offenses:

 

  • Distribution of Heroin                  2C:  35-5B (2) (2nd degree)

 

  • Possession of Heroin                    2C:35-10A(1) (3rd degree)
  • Possession of Ecstasy                   2C:35-10A(1) (3rd degree)

 

  • Distribution of CDS within

500’of a Public Park                      2C:35-7.1A (2nd degree)

 

Gibbs was transported to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, processed, placed on a warrant and transported to and lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
