ATLANTIC COUNTY DESIGNATED AS HIGH INTENSITY DRUG TRAFFICKING AREA THROUGH FEDERAL HIDTA PROGRAM


MAYS LANDING – Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner, will be joined by the Drug Enforcement Administration, New Jersey Division, and local law enforcement officials, at a press conference on Tuesday, regarding the implementation in Atlantic County of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program. The HIDTA program provides assistance to federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States.

The HIDTA program was created by Congress with the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988 and this grant program is administered by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
