ATLANTIC CITY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO WEAPONS, DRUG CHARGES CONNECTED TO 2016 AC EXPRESSWAY SHOOTING

MAYS LANDING- A 20 year-old Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to weapons and narcotics charges in connection to the August 29, 2016 Expressway Shooting, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Yashaun Stukes-Williams pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun in connection with the August 29, 2016 Expressway Shooting. The plea calls for a sentence of 5 years New Jersey State Prison and he must serve 3 ½ years before he is eligible for parole. This case was investigated by the Major Crimes Unit, New Jersey State Police and Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Erik Bergman represents the State in this matter.

On Monday Stukes-Williams also pleaded guilty on a separate indictment to second-degree Distributing Heroin in a Public Zone, third-degree Distributing Heroin for Profit within Atlantic City, and fourth-degree Tampering with Physical Evidence. This case was investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, Atlantic City Police Department and Hamilton Township Police Department.

Stukes-Williams is lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility and sentencing is scheduled for August 31, 2018 before Judge Donna Taylor.
