MAYS LANDING — An Atlantic City man was indicted today for committing multiple sexual offenses against a child, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
An Atlantic County Jury returned an indictment against Santos Torres, 77, for sexually assaulting and infecting a 16 year old female with a sexually transmitted disease. Torres was charged with:
1) Second-Degree Sexual Assault
2) Third-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child
3) Criminal Sexual Contact
4) Diseased Person Committing an act of Penetration
On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department arrested Santos Torres, 76, from Atlantic City for various sexual offenses committed against a juvenile victim.
The investigation was led by Det. Daniel Choe and Sgt. Carlton Durham of ACPO’s Special Victim’s Unit. The State is represented by Chief Assistant Prosecutor Danielle S. Buckley.
