ATLANTIC CITY MAN CHARGED WITH STRICT LIABILITY HOMICIDE IN DRUG INDUCED DEATH OF WOMAN


MAYS LANDING- A 28 year-old Atlantic City man is facing multiple charges in connection to the October 2018 fatal overdose of a 25 year-old Egg Harbor Township woman, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Kevin Green, 28, has been charged with the following:

    • First-degree strict liability for drug-induced death, 2C:35-9a
    • Third-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, 2C:35-5b
    • Third-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone, 2C:35-7.1a
    • Third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, 2C:35-10a

Egg Harbor Township Police Department assisted in this investigation. Assistant Prosecutor Rick McKelvey represents the state in the matter.

These charges are related to the death of Samantha Moore, which occurred on October 27, 2018. Moore died in Egg Harbor Township as a result of fentanyl toxicity. An investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Drug Related Death Squad, revealed that Moore purchased the fentanyl from Kevin Green, in Atlantic City on the day she died. Green was taken into custody when arrested last night in Absecon on an unrelated matter. Green is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing, tentatively scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9, 2019.
