ATLANTIC CITY MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENSES COMMITTED AGAINST JUVENILE VICTIM


MAYS LANDING- An Atlantic City man has been arrested for committing multiple sexual offenses against a child, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department arrested Santos Torres, 76, from Atlantic City for various sexual offenses committed against a juvenile victim.

Following a long-term investigation, Torres was arrested and charged with the following:

  • 2nd degree Sexual Assault
  • 3rd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • 4th degree Criminal Sexual Contact
  • 4th degree Committing an act of Sexual Penetration by a Diseased Person

The investigation was led by Det. Daniel Choe and Sgt. Carlton Durham of ACPO’s SVU Unit. The State has moved to detain Torres, pending his detention hearing.  Assistant Prosecutor Dave Ruffenach represents the State.
