MAYS LANDING- Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner and the ACPO staff would like to welcome Assistant Prosecutor Laura C. Heisman to the Office!

Atlantic County Assistant Prosecutor Laura C. Heisman was sworn in on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, by Presiding Judge Bernard DeLury, with Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.

Assistant Prosecutor Heisman was sworn in on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, by Presiding Judge Bernard DeLury. Assistant Prosecutor Heisman served from 2006-2017 as an Assistant Prosecutor at the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. She was promoted to the rank of Deputy Section Chief of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Juvenile Unit in 2016.

While at the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Assistant Prosecutor Heisman served in various units, including: Juvenile, Grand Jury, Trial Team, and Special Prosecutions. During her service at the CCPO, Assistant Prosecutor Heisman handled all types of cases, including: homicide, sexual assault, narcotics, property crimes, domestic violence, child abuse/child pornography, white collar crime, official misconduct, and numerous other types of cases from investigation through trial.

Assistant Prosecutor Heisman also served as the on-call police legal advisor and instructor at Camden County Police Academy. From 2005-2006, Assistant Prosecutor Heisman clerked for Honorable Thomas A. Brown, Jr. (retired, formerly the presiding Judge of the Camden County Superior Court, Criminal Division).

Assistant Prosecutor Heisman received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden in 2005 and she also earned a Bachelor of Arts in English/Writing from La Salle University in 2002. She interned at Camden County Prosecutor’s Office in 2004.
