ACPO MOURNS & HONORS NEW JERSEY STATE POLICE LT. MATTHEW RAZUKAS

MAYS LANDING- The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office would like to extend their thoughts and prayers to the family of Lieutenant Matthew Razukas of the New Jersey State Police. During his time with the Fatal Accident Unit, Lieutenant Razukas worked tirelessly to assist the Atlantic Prosecutor’s Office with the investigation and prosecution of countless fatal motor vehicle crashes. He was also instrumental in training members of our Fatal Accident Unit, who continue to strive to meet the standards of excellence that he lived by every day. Lieutenant Razukas was a great investigator, instructor, mentor, and above all an irreplaceable friend. No words will ever be able to assuage the grief felt by all who knew and loved him, however we can take some measure of gratitude in having known a man whose character, intelligence, warmth, and selflessness are beyond compare. Lieutenant Razukas had a smile and personality that could light up the darkest room, a trait that never faded under any circumstances.

While the world is no doubt a lesser place without him, Lieutenant Razukas will live on in our hearts and in the fond memories of the times we were fortunate enough to spend with him. Lieutenant Razukas’s family was always his priority. We are forever grateful for all that Lieutenant Razukas did for our agency and the law enforcement community as a whole, and we join in standing, ready to offer any assistance his family may need during this difficult time.
