ACPO MAJOR CRIMES UNIT CONTINUES INVESTIGATION OF 29 YEAR-OLD MAN SHOT, KILLED IN ATLANTIC CITY


ATLANTIC CITY- A 29 year-old Atlantic City man was shot and killed Monday evening in the city, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

At 7:06 p.m., on Monday evening, Atlantic City Police responded to the area of Ohio Avenue and Hummock Avenue, following a ShotSpottter alert. Champsey Bailey was located and had been shot. Bailey was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. Investigators from the ACPO Major Crimes Unit also responded to the scene at Ohio and Hummock Avenues and began an investigation.

No arrests have been made. This remains an active investigation and is a cooperative effort with the Atlantic City Police Department.
