ACPO MAJOR CRIMES, ACPD INVESTIGATING ASSAULTED, UNCONSCIOUS MAN FOUND ON AC SIDEWALK FRIDAY


ATLANTIC CITY- A cooperative investigation is underway by the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department after a man was found unconscious on a city sidewalk on March 5, 2021, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

At approximately 4:01 p.m., on March 5, 2021, the Atlantic City Police Department received a 911 call in reference to an unconscious male on the 500 north block of Trenton Avenue.  Atlantic City Police Officers discovered Christopher Irons, 51, of Atlantic City unconscious on the sidewalk.  Detectives believe Irons was assaulted.

Medical personnel arrived and transported Irons to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Campus.  Irons remains hospitalized in critical condition.
