MAYS LANDING- The ACPO’s James Scoppa has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and was sworn in on Friday, September 27, 2019.
Lt. Scoppa is an 18-year veteran law enforcement officer of the ACPO, where he began his career as a County Investigator.
“Lt. Scoppa is a dogged investigator who will be charged with leading a group of detectives and teaching them the techniques that have made him successful throughout his career,” said Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.
For approximately 10 years, Lt. Scoppa was assigned to the ACPO Narcotics Unit. Lt. Scoppa was also assigned for 3 years at the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and for the last 2 years he was assigned as a Sergeant in the ACPO Major Crimes Unit. Lt. Scoppa received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University.
