The Shooting Response Team (SRT) was formed in 2008 for the purpose of combating gun violence attributed to criminal street gang and narcotics activity.  SRT utilizes both reactive and proactive methods to target this problem.  As part of the reactive component, SRT is available 24/7 to respond and assist all Atlantic County police agencies with shooting investigations.  Often these incidents cross jurisdictional boundaries, requiring SRT to coordinate intelligence between multiple agencies.  As a proactive component, SRT attempts to prevent and/or reduce incidents of gun violence by conducting investigations regarding the unlawful sale and/or possession of firearms.
