Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Strike Force

In 1987 the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Narcotics Strike Force was created.   The Strike Force has the responsibility of investigating and prosecuting mid-to upper-level drug dealers who violate New Jersey's drug laws.

In 2008 the Narcotics Strike Force evolved to include Gangs and Guns investigations.   

The Strike Force is also responsible for coordinating drug investigations of law enforcement agencies operating within the county.   The goal of this coordination is to maximize the efforts of all, by preventing overlap of operations and the targeting of the same violators by different law enforcement agencies.   

In addition to the traditional investigation of drug crime violations, the Strike Force is involved in various educational and training programs designed to make drug enforcement more effective, reduce the demand for drugs, and increase the awareness of law enforcement and the public regarding many enforcement issues.

The Strike Force is composed of investigators from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and officers who are assigned from municipal police departments in Atlantic County.
