The Property and Evidence Unit is an integral and essential part of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Evidence technicians accept a wide variety of evidence and property for storage, such as automobiles, firearms, narcotics, clothing, as well as items recovered from criminal investigations. These items are logged into secure areas and maintained using a bar-code tracking system. The bar-coding of evidence and property facilitates easy retrieval and continuity of the evidence and property for trial purposes.
