Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office

Computer Operations

(609) 909-7836

In 1996, the Computer Operations Unit was created to coordinate the computerization of the office and to handle its increasing expansion.   Operating under the Administrative Section, Computer Operations personnel are responsible for the installation, upkeep and maintenance of all servers, workstations, printers, software etc. used by the staff of the Prosecutor's Office.   The unit services all office locations in Mays Landing and Atlantic City.

One of the first tasks undertaken by the newly created Computer Unit in 1996 was to design and develop, in conjunction with a software vendor, a computer program that would electronically store the thousands of criminal docket files created yearly by the office.   The program is called InfoShare.   InfoShare today has evolved into a state-of-the-art integrated case and document management system.   The system allows an individual to trace the history of a file within the office and details all events from pre-indictment to disposition.   Until the creation of InfoShare, there was no other system available that could provide this information in such a comprehensive manner.

The Prosecutor's Office still maintains the Promis/Gavel System, which is a court-driven database that contains information necessary to manage the court's caseload.

The staff provides training and support to office personnel in the use of other software packages utilized by the office.
